Acute Hepatitis
Panel Testing
This blood test is used to
detect
markers of hepatitis infection, which can cause inflammation of
the liver. There are different hepatitis tests
available. Some tests look for antibodies that your body
makes to fight off infection, others look for genetic material
that can cause hepaptitis.
Testing for hepatitis may
include a check for:

Hepatitis A IgM antibodies
(HA Ab-IgM)

Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)

Hepatitis B IgM core antibody
(HBcAb-IgM)

Hepatitis C antibodies (HC Ab)
A test may also help
determine how contagious someone with hepaptitis is.
