Lipase Testing
A lipase blood test is often done along with an
amylase test to
help diagnose and monitor inflammation of the pancreas, or other
pancreatic disorders. The test is sometimes done after the
diagnosis of Crohn's disease, celiac disease, or cystic
fibrosis.
This test may be ordered if you have symptoms of a pancreatic
disorder. Those symptoms may include nausea, abdominal
pain, fever, and loss of appetite.
